WHO WE ARE
CHIEF STEVE DAVIS
My father had us on the roof squirting water hoses putting out fire embers from the approaching wildfire when I was 11 years old. Little did I know that a few years later I would be a member of US Forest Service fire crews confronting wildfires in some of the most difficult complex Wildland Urban Interface in the United States.
I promoted, and as a Strike Team Leader in charge of multiple fire engine companies protecting neighborhoods being rained upon by hot embers in Southern California’s Santa Ana winds, I quickly learned the value of swift action simply preventing house ignitions.
We were successful in protecting and saving houses and entire towns, using proven techniques and methods. After 35 years of service, I am pleased to be able to help out people who want to do the right thing today.
FIRE CAPTAIN JOE
I grew up in the rolling hills of California that would burn every other year or so. Myself and my brothers witnessed wildfire burning across the landscape, and how the oak trees didn’t die and wild oats and wildflowers blossomed profusely the following spring.
I was 17 years old when the call came ordering me to report for duty at the California Division of Forestry. That summer I learned how to survive putting fires out.
I was soon at the wheel of a four-wheel-drive fire truck in the hills, then moved on to a Type One Fire Engine attacking working structure fires, and protecting entire neighborhoods from approaching wildfires in the infamous north winds of Northern California.
We saw time and time again where homeowners had prepared for the inevitable wildfire, the house didn’t burn down and nobody got hurt.
WORKING TOGETHER
Reducing wildfire risk and threat is about reducing ignitability and fire flame intensity. Ask any firefighter.
FIREWISE clearances and readiness preparation are the common denominators to success.
We have worked with homeowners and communities for decades helping increase safety and survivable conditions for firefighters and residents. This website contains the essence of that experience.
